Description

Peacocks are blue, green,

gold, brown, and red, to

attract mates, peahen on the

other hand are plain

and boring. They are

brown, gray, and white,

peacocks and/or

peafowl weigh 8-13

pounds. Their length 89.1 feet, they have

feathers. A peacocks

tail makes up 60% of

its body.

Diet

Peacocks are

omnivores they

eat insects, plants,

fruits, seeds, ants,

flies, snakes, and

amphibians.

Movement

Peacocks prefer staying

on the ground but if

they need to they will

fly. Peacocks run 16 km

per hour.

Habitat

Peacocks and/or peafowl live in Asia specifically India, Sri

Lanka, Myanmar, and Pakistan, peacocks live in forests and

grasslands. They have spurs on the back of their legs. Male

peacocks have long tails to attract mates and peahen

camouflage with their surroundings to protect their eggs.

Life Cycle

Peacocks lay eggs. Female peacocks

have about 3-6 babies at a time, it

takes 28-29 days until babies hatch.

Their mother watches them for a

couple of years until babies learn

how to take care of themselves.

Baby peacocks are called peachicks,

babies are 3.6 ounces and are fully

feathered they look like their Peacocks

live in groups called

parents but no tail.

group, peacocks live to about 20

years, male peacocks have a blue

body, long tails, and green and

brown feathers, their body is 3-4

feet their tail is 5 feet long, females

have white bellys they dont have

long tails theyre only about 2 feet

long they also have a crest on their

head they have a green neck their

head and body is 3-4 feet.

Animal Interactions

Peacocks have spurs on the back of legs, spurs are sharp

so if a predator attacks from behind they can get injured.

Peacocks main predators are tigers, leopards, and

mongoose they dont really have any relationships with

other animals, peahens cluck to communicate and

peacocks shake theyre tail feathers.
