Battlefields Trip Our group returned from Belgium last Tuesday after an emotional and very interesting tour of battlefields including Ypres and the Somme. Our students located the grave of a former pupil of Alloa Academy and took part in a ceremony of remembrance, laying a wreath at the graveside. Many

thanks to the staff who organised and staffed the tour. Junior Awards Well done to all of our Award winners who took part in our Ceremony last Thursday. The hall was packed with parents, carers and friends of the school

and we appreciate that support. Music was provided by Erin Wick, Rhegane Kennedy and Lorne Brownlie who performed Thinking Out Loud and by James Twist who played a well-known solo trumpet piece, accompanied on the piano by Mrs Young.

Prefects Congratulations to the 45 S5/6 students who have been granted Prefect status. There was a huge number of applicants and the criteria were extremely strict. Unsuccessful applicants will have another chance

to apply in October. Applications are now open for the post of Head Girl, Head Boy and Deputes. SQA results and possible timetable changes SQA results will arrive in homes on Tuesday 9th August. Mrs Ebsworth and Mr McGhee will be in school between

10.00 and 1.00 on that day to take any queries about certificates and results and to make appointments for students to discuss possible timetable changes with Guidance staff the following day. PTs Pupil Support will be available for consultation by appointment on Wednesday 10th August between 10.00am and 1.00pm.
