Ultra tutorial environment Screen layout may vary with different devices (these instructions relate to desktop PC) When you come in - for every tutorial - check your microphone & speakers - Settings in Collaborate panel (bottom right button) click pink button bottom right of screen to get into the Collaborate panel

click on Settings top right then follow the prompts for audio & video Keep your mic closed during the tutorial except when youre speaking To indicate that you wish to speak: click on the raised hand person icon bottom middle of screen - to raise your hand

wait till moderator invites you to speak To speak to the class click on the microphone button - bottom middle of screen to switch on your mic When finished speaking

click again on microphone button - to switch off your mic click again on raised hand person icon - to lower your hand To send a chat message to whole class click pink button bottom right of screen to get into the Collaborate panel

click on chat balloon icon bottom right type message in text box at bottom right click on the smiley icon if you wish to add an emoticon click ENTER To send a private chat message to other student(s)

double click on their name(s) type message in the chat text box then ENTER Collaborate etiquette as there are lots of people in the room please: please dont talk over other people wait till moderator invites you to speak or type HELP!

dont panic if there are tech probs or if your connection drops out just try to log in again if pain persists - its OK to give up!
