Findings from the summer of 2014 indicated that the greatest average achievement gains took place in classrooms that offered a blended literacy and numeracy approach to instruction. This has important implications for how district school boards might determine what program types to implement. It will be beneficial to engage all students across each different program type to complete STAR pre- and post- assessments in both reading and math in order to further test the hypothesis that a blended literacy and numeracy approach might lead to
